Lawrence Stephens is seeking a 2-4 PQE Solicitor to join our growing Construction team. Based in our Farringdon office, with hybrid working available, this is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad construction practice with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Working closely with Partners and experienced fee earners, you will support and advise a diverse client base across construction, real estate, development and related commercial projects. The role offers high levels of responsibility, direct client contact and the opportunity to play an active role in the continued growth of the practice.
We are looking for a commercially minded and organised solicitor with strong technical skills and a proactive approach to client service. Ideally, you will have gained experience in construction law and be confident advising on a range of contentious and/or non-contentious construction matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
