About the Company

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established criminal defence law firm with the recruitment of a Criminal Duty Solicitor. This role will be based in Bradford. The firm specialises in criminal defence, serious crime and fraud, representing clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Courts.

About the Role

Permanent position. Salary fully negotiable, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide criminal defence advice and representation to clients.
  • Attend police stations and advise clients during interviews under caution.
  • Represent clients at Magistrates’ Court hearings.
  • Manage a varied criminal caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion.
  • Prepare cases, review evidence and provide clear legal advice to clients.
  • Liaise with police, courts, barristers and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all work meets regulatory and professional standards.
  • Handle matters across a broad range of criminal offences.
  • Participate in duty solicitor work and provide high-quality representation to clients.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Duty Solicitor accreditation required.
  • Previous experience within criminal defence.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience attending police stations and Magistrates’ Courts.
  • Good knowledge of criminal law, procedure and legal aid work.
  • Confident managing your own caseload.
  • Strong advocacy and client-care skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational ability.
  • Ability to deal professionally with complex and sensitive criminal matters.
