Digital Legal Delivery
Rapid digital transformation is reshaping business—and we are leading the charge. Our Digital Legal Delivery (Digital) practice combines legal expertise, project management, process design, and cutting-edge technology to support clients navigating digital evolution.
At the intersection of people, law, and technology, we help businesses:

1. Legal

The Legal Technology practice partners with practice groups to deliver trustworthy, scalable technologies across:
- Document automation.
- Custom development.

3. Advisory

The Opportunity
Solicitor Role (Digital Legal Delivery – Disputes), Belfast
Team: You’ll join our Digital Legal Delivery team, working closely with Managers, Senior Solicitors, Solicitors, Trainees, and Legal Analysts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting document review, due diligence, and practice-specific fee-earning work (respecting chargeable hour targets).
- Ensuring high-quality output through Quality Control, providing constructive feedback to uphold Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s quality standards.
- Collaborating globally, as required, with practice groups to deliver high-quality legal support to both clients and internal teams.
- Supervising Trainees or Legal Analysts as delegated by Senior Solicitors, Managers, or Senior Managers to manage complex matters or propose process improvements.
- Maintaining law expertise relevant to the practice.
- Meeting financial disciplines, including accurate time recording.
- Supporting or delivering client matters as needed, beyond standard tasks.

Note: This role may, from time to time, require limited travel to Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer offices or client engagements.
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Fully qualified solicitor or barrister (preferably in England & Wales or Northern Ireland), though applicants from Republic of Ireland or common law jurisdictions will also be considered. (If based outside England & Wales, willingness to requalify, as required, is advantageous.)
- 1+ years' post-qualification experience (PQE), with a minimum of 6+ months in Disputes/litigation (3+ years’ PQE desirable).
- 2:1 minimum degree, with two-year scoil law or equivalent. (Alternative: A levels—ideally B grades or above.)
- A progressive mindset—inquisitive in AI and emerging technologies; a particular interest in legal innovation and efficiency.
Desirable:
- Experience in a commercial legal environment, preferably at a private practice firm.
- Knowledge of Disputes practice expertise, including:
- Large-scale document review, especially from instruction to completion
- Ability to project-manage legal projects efficiently.
