Job details
Doris & MacMahon is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Solicitor to join its team, with a strong background in Family Law and experience handling a varied caseload.
The successful candidate will have experience in contact and residence matters, public law proceedings, divorce and ancillary relief/financial remedy cases, and will be confident managing cases from initial instruction through to conclusion.
Experience in other areas of practice would also be advantageous, although not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of family law matters with appropriate supervision where required.
- Conducting contact and residence/child arrangements cases.
- Dealing with public law proceedings, including care proceedings.
- Handling divorce and financial/ancillary relief matters.
- Advising and representing clients in negotiations, hearings and court proceedings.
- Preparing legal correspondence, statements, applications and court documentation.
- Attending conferences, directions hearings, final hearings and other court appointments.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with relevant court rules and deadlines.
- Providing clear, practical and professional advice to clients.
- Working effectively with colleagues, counsel, experts and other professionals.

About You
- Qualified as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland with at least 1-year PQE.
- Experienced in family law and able to manage a varied caseload.
- Confident in dealing with clients and other professionals.
- Well organised, commercially aware and able to work to deadlines.
- Able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team.
- Committed to providing a high standard of client care.
- Experienced in family law, contact/residence, public law, divorce and ancillary relief/financial remedy work.
- Previous experience of other areas of practice would be desirable.
