Are you a Solicitor at the start of your legal career looking for the right opportunity to build your experience and progress? We are looking for a Solicitor to join our Road Traffic Accident Team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a personal injury or road traffic accident background who would like to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience and build a long-term career with clear scope for progression.
We also welcome applications from more experienced Solicitors, with the level of appointment reflecting experience.

About the Role
As a Solicitor within our Road Traffic Accident Team, you will manage and progress your own caseload with support appropriate to your level of experience. You will work as part of a collaborative team, developing your technical, litigation and client-handling skills while delivering excellent outcomes for our clients.

- Manage a varied caseload of Road Traffic Accident claims, progressing cases efficiently and strategically from instruction through to settlement or litigation, with the level and complexity of work appropriate to your experience.
- Handle all aspects of case preparation and litigation, including liability investigations, evidence gathering, drafting legal documents, instructing and liaising with medical and other experts, negotiation and settlement.
- Take an active role in the team’s litigation work, including attending court where required, with opportunities to build your confidence, court experience and advocacy skills.
- Work closely with experienced colleagues, seeking guidance where appropriate and contributing to a positive, collaborative and knowledge-sharing team environment.
- Take ownership of your own development, embracing feedback, training and opportunities to broaden your technical knowledge and case-handling experience.
- Progress your cases proactively and to the required quality and service standards, maintaining strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Take ownership of your individual performance and work towards agreed financial and operational KPI targets appropriate to your role and level of experience.
- Maximise cost recovery and commercial performance while maintaining excellent standards of client care and achieving strong outcomes for clients.
- As your experience develops, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility. For those with the aptitude and ambition to progress, this may include supporting junior colleagues and, in time, developing towards a supervisory role.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualification: We welcome applications from newly qualified and early-career Solicitors. Candidates who are already qualified with three or more years’ PQE may be considered for appointment at Senior Solicitor or Associate Solicitor level, depending on experience.
- Personal Injury/RTA Experience: You will have experience within personal injury or road traffic accident work. Previous RTA experience is desirable rather than essential, and we are keen to hear from candidates who can bring transferable personal injury experience and are interested in developing within RTA.
- Ambition to Develop: You will be keen to build your legal career, develop your technical expertise and take advantage of opportunities to progress. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the team and, as their experience develops, is open to taking on greater responsibility and potentially progressing towards supervision.
- Commercial Awareness: You will understand the importance of financial performance and be comfortable working towards individual KPI targets appropriate to your experience and role.
- Strong Legal Skills: You will bring strong negotiation, analytical and organisational skills, together with a willingness to continue developing your litigation skills and confidence as your experience grows.
- Client Focus: You will be committed to delivering an excellent client experience, communicating clearly and progressing cases proactively.
- Collaborative Approach: You will enjoy being part of a team, sharing knowledge and building strong relationships with colleagues and external professionals.
- Litigation & Court Development: You will be comfortable working in a litigation-focused environment and willing to attend court as required. Extensive court experience is not essential. What matters is that you are keen to build your confidence and experience in this area and embrace opportunities to develop your court and advocacy skills.
