Solicitor – Private Client / Lifetime Planning

Location: Gloucester or Stroud

Salary: Competitive, dependent on PQE and relevant private client experience

Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

My client is recruiting for a qualified Solicitor to join an established and growing Private Client/Lifetime Planning team, with the role available in either Gloucester or Stroud.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career within a specialist private client environment, working closely with individuals, families, and business owners on a range of lifetime planning and asset protection matters.

The ideal candidate will have around 2 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within private client work. However, candidates with less PQE will be considered where they can demonstrate strong and relevant private client experience.

Salary is open to discussion and will be determined according to PQE and, importantly, the depth and quality of private client experience gained.

The Role

You will provide practical, thoughtful, and commercially aware advice to clients on a broad range of lifetime planning matters, taking the time to understand their wider circumstances, priorities, and long-term objectives.

Your work will include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
