Job Descriptions

Property Solicitor (Commercial and Residential)

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Minimum Experience: 5 years' Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)

Reports to: Principal Solicitor

Purpose of the Role

To manage a varied caseload of residential and commercial property matters, providing high-quality legal advice and excellent client service while contributing to the continued growth and development of the Property Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion.
  • Advise on commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, assignments, licences, and refinancing.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, leases, and related legal documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors, and other professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with SRA requirements, lender instructions, AML regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Conduct and support file reviews.
  • Participate in networking, marketing, and business development activities.
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals, trainee solicitors (where applicable), volunteers, and work experience students as required.
  • Delegate work appropriately and oversee the quality and timely completion of delegated tasks.
  • Assist with the training and development of junior members of the team.
  • Meet agreed billing, file management, and performance targets.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Principal Solicitor.

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE.
  • Strong experience in residential and commercial property.
  • Ability to manage files independently.
  • Excellent client care, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to supervise and support junior staff, including paralegals, volunteers, and work experience students.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
