Our Public Law & Human Rights team

Our Public Law & Human Rights team specialises in mental capacity, deprivation of liberty, and health & welfare disputes in the Court of Protection, acting for vulnerable adults and their families. The department is consistently recognised in national legal directories for its expertise in health and welfare work before the Court of Protection.

The Bristol team works closely with colleagues across the national Public Law & Human Rights practice, advising on complex Court of Protection matters and supporting vulnerable individuals and their families through challenging and often life-changing circumstances.

We are seeking a Solicitor

We are seeking a Solicitor to join our Bristol office and support the team with a dedicated Court of Protection Health & Welfare caseload, which may include:

  • Section 21A challenges to deprivation of liberty
  • Best interests applications relating to residence, care, contact, and medical treatment
  • Capacity disputes
  • Safeguarding and risk-related matters
  • Supporting vulnerable clients with complex needs

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality, meaningful cases alongside experienced specialists in the field and develop your expertise within a nationally recognised team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
