Solicitor (NQ-3 PQE) - Professional Indemnity

Location: Glasgow

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Solicitor (NQ-3 PQE) to join our Professional Indemnity team in our Glasgow office.

This is a great opportunity to join a successful and fast-growing Professional Indemnity team in Scotland.

  • The Professional Indemnity team are highly regarded in Scotland with rankings in both Chambers and Legal 500.
  • The team regularly act on behalf of a variety of Insurers throughout the UK.
  • The team handle high value and complex claims against solicitors, accountants, IFAs and surveyors.
  • You will also be assisting in the handling of complex PI construction claims against architects, engineers and contractors.

We are a specialist Construction and Professional Indemnity practice, with offices in Bristol, London, Dublin, Dubai and now 2 newly established offices in Glasgow and Toronto.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor or someone in the early stages of their legal career to develop their expertise within a leading specialist practice. You will work on complex and high-value claims involving construction professionals, while benefiting from close partner support, structured training and early responsibility.

The Role

You will advise insurers and construction professionals, including architects, engineers, surveyors and other consultants, on a wide range of professional indemnity and professional negligence matters.

  • Defending professional negligence claims against construction professionals such as engineers, architects, surveyors and design & build contractors.
  • Advising on professional indemnity insurance coverage issues.
  • Managing litigated matters in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.
  • Drafting pleadings, reports, client correspondence and legal advice.
  • Working alongside partners and senior lawyers on complex and high-value disputes.
  • Supporting alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and adjudication where appropriate.
  • Building strong relationships with insurer and professional clients.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Scottish Solicitor.
  • NQ to 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in litigation, commercial disputes, insurance litigation, professional negligence or construction disputes would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, drafting and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to client service.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • A genuine interest in the construction, engineering and insurance sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience of living the values of our Firm.
