Legal Bookkeeper

Essex

Excellent salary and opportunity

Our legal client is expanding and now needs an in-house Bookkeeper to manage the firm's busy billings and accounts.

The successful applicant will have been working for a firm of solicitors in a similar role or be doing solicitors' accounts for their clients in a firm of Accountants.

Requirements

  • Manage the firm's financial records
  • Have a good knowledge of compliance and regulations like the SRA Accounts Rules
  • Handle the daily, weekly, and monthly finance tasks
  • Manage client trust accounts (IOLTA/escrow)
  • Trust and Operating Accounts
  • Bill clients (hourly, contingency, or flat fee)
  • Daily reconciliations and reporting functions
  • Ensuring all transactions are documented to pass regulatory audits
  • Expense Management - Handling accounts payable, receivable
  • Payroll
