Solid Fuel Technician / Chimney Sweep Assistant
We’re looking for a practical, reliable person to join our customer team installing, servicing, and maintaining wood-burning and multi-fuel appliances. This varied role combines installations, chimney sweeping, customer service, and general building work. Full training is provided, although experience in construction, roofing, plastering, or another practical trade would be an advantage.

Progress to become a qualified HETAS Solid Fuel Technician, Chimney Sweep, and Appliance Installer.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves (full training provided).
- Carrying out general laboring and light building work during installations.
- Helping move and position stoves, liners, and equipment safely.
- Sweeping chimneys and flues, and cleaning fireplaces, stoves, and hearths to a high standard.
- Repairing or fitting chimney pots, cowls, and other chimney components where required.
- Completing electronic job records, certificates, and health & safety paperwork.
- Taking customer payments and explaining completed work professionally both in person and over the telephone.
- Loading, unloading, and storing equipment safely at the start and end of each day.
- Keeping company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and ready for work.
- Assisting with occasional stock checks and general workshop duties.

What You Need
- Full UK driving license.
- Practical, reliable, able to work independently or part of a team, good customer service skills.
- Happy working at height using ladders when required.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to represent the company professionally.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment safely.

Hours & Benefits
- Salary: £26,000–£30,600 depending on experience, with pension, pay reviews, and a salary increase on successful completion of the training/probation period.
- Hours: 9:00 am–5:00 pm, flexible to meet business needs, plus one Saturday per month.
