Position Description
At CGI, we design and deliver secure technology that supports critical public services and creates lasting value for our clients. As a Senior Solution Architect within our CTO Office, you’ll shape the technology direction of a secure national policing account, leading the design and assurance of scalable, cost-effective solutions with significant real-world impact. You’ll have the scope to influence technology strategy, challenge established approaches and turn innovative thinking into practical outcomes, while being supported by experienced architecture, security, and delivery specialists. Acting as a trusted deputy to the CTO on solution matters, you’ll bring together client priorities, security requirements, and operational needs to help shape resilient services for the future.
CGI was recognized in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent, and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position, but you should be happy to travel to London when required.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of solution architecture across a secure national policing account, designing scalable, secure, and commercially effective technology solutions. Working within the CTO Office, you’ll act as a deputy to the CTO on solution-related matters and play an influential role in architecture governance, design authority, solution assurance, and technology strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
