Job Description
As a Solution Architect (Artificial Intelligence), you will play a key role in shaping the design and delivery of AI and machine learning capabilities across the Air Sector. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you will define solution architectures that enable scalable, secure and governed AI solutions, helping to drive innovation and unlock value from data across the organisation. You will provide architectural leadership across a range of projects and programmes, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, technical standards and emerging AI best practices.
Core duties
- Lead the design and governance of AI and machine learning solution architectures, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and cost-effective
- Architect end-to-end machine learning platforms and pipelines, embedding MLOps, AI ethics and data governance best practices
- Define and maintain architectural standards, frameworks and roadmaps for AI-enabled solutions across the Air Sector
- Provide technical leadership and expert guidance on AI, machine learning and data science technologies to project teams and stakeholders
- Conduct architectural reviews, risk assessments and impact analysis to ensure solutions meet business, technical and safety requirements
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, customers and partners to shape strategy and influence key technical decisions

Essential Skills
- Proven Solution or Systems Architecture experience with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies
- Strong understanding of data science and machine learning lifecycles, including MLOps principles and practices
- Experience designing and governing complex enterprise-scale technology solutions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
- Relevant IT or architecture certifications would be advantageous
The Air Data Analytics Architecture team
The Air Data Analytics Architecture Team supports Data Science and AI initiatives across the Air Sector, delivering solution architectures for a range of projects and programmes. Working closely with the Air Data Analytics Cluster Lead Architect and Applied Analytics Data Science team, the team provides architectural leadership that enables the delivery of innovative, secure and scalable AI capabilities across the business.
