Are you an experienced Solution Architect passionate about delivering impactful digital transformation across Central Government?
We are seeking an Associate Director, Solution Architect to lead the architectural vision and strategy for large-scale government programmes. This is an opportunity to shape mission-critical services, drive innovation, and improve outcomes for citizens through modern cloud-native solutions and strategic technology leadership.
What You'll Do
As a senior architectural leader, you will:
- Define and communicate architectural vision and strategy for major government programmes
- Translate complex business, policy, and user requirements into scalable, secure, enterprise-level solutions
- Design end-to-end architectures spanning applications, data, infrastructure, security, integrations, and cloud platforms
- Provide technical leadership and architectural assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Lead stakeholder workshops and influence senior business, policy, and technical decision-makers
- Establish governance frameworks, best practices, and architecture standards
- Mentor and develop solution architects and technical specialists
- Support business development, proposal creation, and growth initiatives across the Central Government sector

What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Significant experience working with or within UK Central Government
- Proven leadership delivering complex enterprise-scale technology solutions
- Strong expertise across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
- Experience with SaaS solutions such as Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Cloud technologies
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs and integration patterns
- Experience working with Agile teams and iterative delivery approaches
- Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and lifecycle management
- Knowledge of GDS Service Standard and NCSC security principles
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
- SC Clearance or ability to obtain clearance
Desirable Qualifications
- TOGAF
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Experience within Health, Defence, Justice, or wider Public Sector organisations
- Professional Services or Consulting experience
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including AI, blockchain, and quantum computing
