D365 Finance & Operations Solution Architect
We are seeking an experienced D365 Finance & Operations Solution Architect to own the overall solution architecture and provide design authority across complex D365 solutions. The role requires close engagement with senior business and technology stakeholders, ensuring solutions align with strategic objectives while delivering scalable, best-practice outcomes. In addition to client delivery, the Solution Architect will contribute to the growth of the UK&I D365 practice by helping define delivery standards and build capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solution designs.
- Define overall application, integration, data, and security architecture for D365 F&O solutions.
- Lead architecture workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution design sessions.
- Provide expert guidance across D365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and related business processes.
- Design and oversee integrations between D365 and external enterprise applications.
- Establish solution governance, design standards, and implementation best practices.
- Review functional and technical designs to ensure alignment with business and architectural requirements.
- Support data migration strategy, testing activities, deployment planning, and go-live readiness.
- Collaborate closely with functional consultants, developers, project managers, and business stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex solution issues and provide architectural guidance during implementation and post-go-live support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for process optimization across the D365 landscape.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10+ years of overall ERP consulting experience, including 5+ years as a Dynamics 365 F&O Solution Architect.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations architecture and solution design.
- Proven experience leading large-scale end-to-end D365 F&O implementation programs.
- Deep understanding of Finance, Supply Chain Management, and enterprise business processes.
- Experience designing integrations using Azure Integration Services, APIs, and middleware platforms.
- Strong knowledge of security architecture, environment strategy, and data migration frameworks.
- Experience creating solution blueprints, architecture documents, and governance standards.
- Strong client-facing presence and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage business and executive leadership teams.
- Exposure to Power Platform, Power BI, Azure services, and Microsoft ecosystem technologies.
- Strong ownership of the overall solution architecture and integrity across Finance, SCM, integrations, data, security, and extensions.
- Ability to act as the design authority throughout delivery, reviewing and challenging functional and technical designs and ensuring consistency across workstreams.
- Strong fit-to-standard mindset, able to challenge unnecessary customization and guide clients towards standard D365 capabilities where appropriate.
- Experienced in producing and owning Solution Blueprints, high-level architecture, and key architectural/design decisions.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Success by Design, implementation strategy, environment/ALM considerations and relevant Microsoft/FastTrack governance.
- Experience supporting pre-sales and solution shaping, including discovery, estimates, assumptions, solution options and SOW inputs.
- Ability to provide architecture assurance, mentor delivery teams and contribute to reusable standards, methods and IP across the wider D365 practice.
