Role: Solution Architect / Designer

Location: London – 3 days onsite

Start Date: September 2026

End Date: 6 months

Daily Rate: Inside IR35

This is an exciting opportunity to join Deloitte Operations for an engagement with one of our clients.

Role Overview

Solutions Designers lead end-to-end design and delivery of quantum-safe solutions, encompassing technology, processes, policies, and guardrails. They produce design documents aligned with business requirements and standards, publish architecture patterns, key decisions, and manage technical risks. Collaboration with technical SMEs ensures integration of quantum-safe practices while maintaining standard approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive solution designs aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Document and communicate key design decisions, deviations, and technical risks.
  • Ensure designs are efficient, cost-effective, and meet security and resilience standards.
  • Lead presentations at design authorities and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and act as a subject matter expert in quantum-safe cybersecurity.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Senior Solutions or Security Architect background with enterprise-scale solution design expertise.
  • Strong skills in data, integration, platform architecture, and scalable data-processing pipelines.
  • Understanding of security, resilience, availability, and disaster recovery patterns.
  • Ability to translate programme objectives into actionable reference architectures.

Desirable Skills:

  • Enterprise cybersecurity architecture, including encryption, PKI, cryptographic tooling.
  • Experience with post-quantum cryptography, quantum-safe migration, and cryptographic agility.
  • Broad security domain knowledge to support future initiatives.

Cybersecurity Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge in cryptography, data security, identity & access management, privileged access management.
  • Experience communicating effectively with both security and non-security technical stakeholders.
  • Background in large-scale IT transformation programmes.

Governance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure all design artefacts undergo governance and peer review.
  • Manage and escalate technical risks and issues with clear remediation plans.
  • Leadership: Provide technical thought leadership and collaborate across IT as a cybersecurity SME with quantum safety expertise.

This concise specification targets experienced architects with strong cybersecurity and quantum-safe knowledge, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical governance.

Qualifications & Tools:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and architecture visualization tools (BizzDesign, Archi, UML).
