Solution Architect - People & Culture

Duration: Initial 6 Months

Location: Reading or Dublin (Hybrid basis)

Job Type: Inside IR35 Day Rate

We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to support a number of strategic colleague experience and HR transformation programmes across its global technology landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the architecture and future direction of Workday Learning, Workday Evolve and wider colleague-facing platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and aligned to enterprise architecture standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the end-to-end solution architecture for Workday Learning and related colleague experience platforms
  • Defining and governing learning-related data architecture, including ownership models, system-of-record principles and foundational data dependencies
  • Designing authentication and access solutions supporting Workday SSO, MFA and secure colleague access across all user populations
  • Establishing architecture patterns for learning access across shared retail devices, kiosks and frontline colleague technology
  • Assessing and governing integration impacts across HR systems, identity platforms, employee experience technologies and third-party learning solutions
  • Defining target-state colleague journeys across Workday Learning and MY P&C to ensure a seamless user experience
  • Supporting legacy learning platform archiving, data retention and decommissioning activities
  • Developing architecture roadmaps and target-state designs supporting Workday Evolve and broader Workday transformation initiatives
  • Defining solution architecture standards, integration principles and architectural blueprints across the Workday ecosystem
  • Assessing the impact of new capabilities, localisation requirements and regulatory changes across the Workday landscape
  • Providing architectural leadership across multiple concurrent HR and colleague experience transformation workstreams
  • Collaborating with business, HR, technology and delivery stakeholders to ensure successful solution outcomes

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions
  • Strong experience designing and implementing Workday Learning and broader Workday architecture solutions
  • Deep understanding of solution architecture principles, frameworks and best practices, including TOGAF or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of HR, Learning and Talent technology ecosystems
  • Experience defining enterprise architecture roadmaps, solution blueprints and target-state architectures
  • Knowledge of Identity & Access Management technologies, including SSO, MFA, Entra ID and SailPoint
  • Experience with enterprise integration architecture and API-led design approaches
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working across large-scale HR or workforce transformation programmes
  • Retail industry experience and an understanding of frontline colleague technology would be highly beneficial
  • 8+ years' technology experience, including 5+ years delivering enterprise-scale architecture solutions
  • Relevant degree or professional qualifications preferred
