Solution Architect - Oracle Finance

Salary: Up to £140,000 + benefits | Location: London or Edinburgh (Hybrid: 1 day per week in the office | Permanent contract

We are partnering with a major financial services organisation undergoing significant transformation across its Finance function. As part of a wider technology and business change agenda, they are looking to appoint an experienced Solution Architect with strong Oracle Finance expertise to join their Corporate Functions Technology team.

This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of Finance and Technology, where you will work closely with Finance stakeholders to shape, design and deliver technology solutions that support both regulatory and transformational change initiatives.

The Opportunity

Finance is at the centre of a large-scale transformation programme focused on improving efficiency, automation, AI adoption and organisational scalability. The team is responsible for delivering technology change into Finance and is looking to strengthen its solution architecture capability with an individual who combines strong Oracle Finance expertise with broad enterprise architecture skills.

You will act as both a Solution Architect and an Oracle Finance SME, helping shape future-state architecture while ensuring the organisation maximises value from its existing Oracle platform estate.

Key programmes currently underway include:

  • Finance transformation initiatives
  • Chart of Accounts and General Ledger transformation
  • Regulatory and business change programmes
  • Enterprise-wide transformation planning across Finance, Life and Asset Management functions
  • Process automation and operational efficiency initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate requirements into scalable technology solutions.
  • Own end-to-end solution design across applications, integrations, reporting, data and finance platforms.
  • Lead the production of high-quality architecture and solution design artefacts.
  • Provide architecture leadership across Finance transformation programmes.
  • Act as the Oracle Finance subject matter expert within the technology team.
  • Evaluate current Oracle capabilities and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation and increased platform utilisation.
  • Design solutions that enable efficient, integrated and future-ready Finance processes.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, delivery teams and third-party vendors.
  • Provide architectural governance, design assurance and technical leadership throughout delivery.
  • Support strategic technology roadmaps and target-state architecture initiatives.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Solution Designer or similar architecture role within large enterprise environments.
  • Strong Oracle Finance knowledge, ideally including Oracle Fusion and associated Finance platforms.
  • Experience designing solutions across the wider Oracle ecosystem, including integrations, reporting, data platforms, feeds and surrounding systems.
  • Strong Finance transformation experience.
  • Demonstrable experience translating business requirements into deliverable technology solutions.
  • Experience producing end-to-end solution designs covering functional, integration, data, security and non-functional requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working within architecture governance and assurance processes.
