You'll play a key role in designing and delivering technical solutions that align with business needs. Your work will ensure the seamless integration of technology within the organisation's operations.

As a Solution Architect in the property industry, based in Leatherhead, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering technical solutions that align with business needs. Your work will ensure the seamless integration of technology within the organisation's operations.

The Solution Architect translates Enterprise Architecture principles, standards and target-state models into fit-for-purpose solution designs for specific programmes and projects, ensuring solutions are technically sound, cost-effective, secure and aligned to business need.

The role leads the architecture and technical design of solutions within assigned programmes: evaluating options, defining Solution Building Blocks, and guiding delivery teams through design, build and implementation governance.

The Solution Architect works closely with the Enterprise Architect, other architects, project managers and IT teams - collaborating on requirements, developing innovative and pragmatic solutions, and ensuring designs comply with the Technical Design Authority.

The role also maintains architecture artefacts (including Architecture Definition Documents, Solution Building Blocks and ArchiMate models) within the Architecture Repository, and contributes to maturing the Enterprise Architecture capability across the business.

Description

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and document scalable and efficient solution architectures.
  • Ensure alignment of technology solutions with organisational objectives and industry standards.
  • Work closely with development teams to oversee the implementation of solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology tools and platforms to meet project needs.
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies for technology projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to the property sector.

Profile

A successful Solution Architect should have:

  • Minimum 5 years' proven experience succeeding in a similar solution architecture role.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of TOGAF (or a comparable architecture framework) including the Architecture Development Method (ADM), the Enterprise Continuum and Architecture Governance.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the ArchiMate modelling language and its core viewpoints.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of solution architecture and technical design within an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of business case development and cost-benefit analysis for technology investment decisions.
  • Working knowledge of programme/project delivery methods (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) sufficient to operate effectively within them.
  • Awareness of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. UK GDPR/data protection, ISO 19650/BIM) and their implications for solution design.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of systems and their usage across the application, data, infrastructure and integration domains.
  • Proven technical expertise with a deep understanding of architectural frameworks, methods and governance.
  • Experience integrating and configuring COTS and cloud systems within a predominantly Microsoft environment.
  • Working knowledge of security and data architecture principles, and their application to solution design.
  • Broad technical background in IT, covering applications, data, infrastructure, network and integrations.
  • Ability to balance architectural rigor with delivery pragmatism, negotiating trade-offs with delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Offer

  • Daily rate of up to £750 a day inside IR35, dependent on the level of experience (may be some flexibility).
  • Temporary contract with a focus on impactful technology projects.
