Solution Consultant – Pre-Sales (GK Technologies)

As a Solution Consultant, you’ll be at the core of how the world’s leading retailers—from Europe’s largest groceries and fashion chains to general merchants—discover, evaluate, and choose GK. Partnering closely with Sales, you’ll validate technical fit for our unified-commerce suite, including:
- Point-of-Sale (POS)
- Edge and cloud store solutions
- Payments
- Promotions
Your mission: transform complex retail technology into clear, actionable value—abroad, uninhibited by geographical boundaries—and play a decisive role in shaping retail’s next chapter.
About the Role
This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who equals passion for retail with deep technical acumen, demonstrated by:
- Exceptional technical communication (solving intricate challenges while simplifying them for stakeholders)
- Strategic consulting mindset (bridging customer challenges with product innovations)
- Teamwork and ownership (collaborating with Sales, Product, and Professional Services at every stage)
You’ll report directly to the VP/Head of Pre-Sales and join our EMEA team, with the flexibility of a remote-first, international environment. Location flexibility: Germany, UK, or anywhere in Europe.
What You’ll Do
- Engage customers intelligently: Lead technical demonstrations, presentations, and PoC engagements with new and returning retail clients.
- Tailor solutions: Develop customised technical design proposals, presentations, and value maps to match each customer’s unique requirements.
- Collaborate centrally: Partner with Sales as one force, combining technical expertise and compelling storytelling to secure trust and drive deals.
- Bridge findings: Collect and document customer needs, while feeding product feature requests into improvement efforts.
- Support RFI/RFQ processes: Ensure headline-qualified functional and technical proposal documents, maintaining rigour across the sales cycle.
- Execute Proofs of Concept: Facilitate hands-on evaluations that highlight the real-world benefits of GK solutions.
- Focus clarity: Produce vivid technical guidelines and documentation, sharing insights across Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Teams, and other channels.
- Shape innovation cycle: Collaborate cross-functionally with Product teams, injecting real-world customer insights into product roadmaps.

What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Retail IT expertise: Deep understanding of retail systems, ERP integrations, payment processing, and commerce platforms.
- Background rooted in IT, business informatics, or hands-on retail tech roles (e.g., operations, technical support, or developer experience within retail IT).
- Pre-sales or consulting prowess: Solid, actionable experience in managing customer engagements and technical sales support, regardless of your direct past work.
- Exceptional communication: Gear your message both persuading and understandable. We look for substance backed by engaging delivery—turning complexity into clarity.
- Problem-solving mindset: A proven ability to self-navigate, research unseen issues, and dig deep to craft tailored solutions.
- Team-oriented curiosity: Thrive in ad-hoc collaboration, driving ideas forward while supporting peers’ ideas equally.

Pre-sales in a global company demands fluent and polished English (written and spoken) due to our diverse client base, 55+ nationalities, and international collaboration. German fluency is welcome but not required.
Nice to have:
- Experience with strategic enterprise platform partners (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Exposure to networks, APIs, payments ecosystems, or emerging cloud solutions—valuable but not mandatory.
