- Translate business requirements into detailed solution designs, technical specifications, process flows, and implementation plans across multiple telecom domains.
- Develop high-level and low-level solution designs covering network, service, application, integration, OSS/BSS, and customer-facing platforms.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, Operations, and external suppliers to define and validate solution requirements.
- Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead solution impact assessments for new products, service enhancements, platform upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
- Design integration solutions between business services and key enterprise platforms, including CRM, Billing, Provisioning, Mediation, Service Assurance, and Order Management systems.
- Support the introduction of new telecom services through detailed solution assurance, feasibility analysis, and technical governance activities.
- Identify design dependencies, technical risks, and implementation constraints, providing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, ensuring design quality, compliance, and consistency across programmes and projects.
- Produce and maintain design documentation, interface specifications, process models, data flows, and technical solution artefacts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance during project delivery, supporting development, testing, deployment, and operational readiness activities.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure solution designs support service stability, performance, supportability, and business continuity requirements.
- Support incident investigations, problem management activities, and root cause analysis for business-critical services when required.
- Assess the impact of changes on existing telecom platforms and services, ensuring minimal disruption to customers and live business operations.
- Contribute to platform modernization, legacy system transformation, and service optimization initiatives that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Engage with technology vendors and delivery partners to evaluate solutions, review technical proposals, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify solutions, reduce costs, increase automation, and enhance service delivery capabilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
