Solution Designer – Cybersecurity / Quantum Safe
Location: Sheffield – 3 days per week onsite
Contract: Long-term
We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to support a major quantum-safety and cybersecurity transformation programme. You will own end-to-end solution designs, translating business and security requirements into clear, governed technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain high-level, end-to-end solution designs aligned with reference architectures, standards, and business requirements.
- Develop architecture patterns, design decision records, technical-risk assessments, and deviation requests.
- Embed quantum-safe security practices across technology platforms, processes, policies, and guardrails.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Present designs to technical design authorities, senior leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure architecture artefacts undergo peer review and appropriate governance.
- Identify, document, mitigate, and escalate technical risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Provide cybersecurity thought leadership and guidance to projects and wider transformation programmes.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and technical SMEs across the organisation.

Essential Experience
- Strong Solution Designer, Solution Architect, or Security Architect background.
- Significant cybersecurity expertise across:
- Cryptography
- Data security
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Understanding of quantum-safe or post-quantum security principles.
- Experience delivering within large-scale IT transformation programmes.
- Strong experience producing high-level designs and architecture documentation.
- Knowledge of architecture governance, design authorities, and technical-risk management.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong senior stakeholder management and presentation skills.

Tools and Technologies
- Jira
- Confluence
- BizzDesign, Archi, or UML-based visualisation tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- CISSP, CISM, or another recognised cybersecurity certification.
Candidates must be able to work onsite in Sheffield three days per week.
