This role is offered on the basis of a combination of working field-based, visiting customer sites/our offices, and also remotely.

The Opportunity

As a Condition Monitoring Solutions Engineer, you will create value for our customers by working closely with them to understand their maintenance requirements and identifying opportunities to meet these needs through existing and emerging supplier capabilities.

You will also create value for our suppliers by developing a deep understanding of their products and solutions, acting as a Subject Matter Expert for maintenance solutions aligned with our maintenance services strategy. In addition, you will support supplier growth by proactively matching their solutions with our customers' maintenance needs and business objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working with our customers to fully understand their maintenance challenges and needs so you can offer expert, practical advice to solve problems. Focus on delighting the customer to ensure renewal and expansion
  • Working with existing, and new, suppliers to fully understand their available products and solutions and match them with our customers’ needs
  • Identifying our suppliers’ repeatable and scalable Maintenance Solutions that are in line with our Maintenance solutions strategy
  • Upon successfully identifying the right maintenance solution matching customer’s needs, and full implementation of it, developing case studies and sharing with Sales and Marketing Teams
  • Working closely with Proposition Marketing Teams and Suppliers to produce appropriate marketing material for identified solutions
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert for RS specialising in Condition monitoring online digital solutions.
  • Support in coaching and training Sales Teams to proactively promote these solutions to their customers
  • Collaborate with other sales teams to identify and handover leads for other products and services
  • Be an active member of the group, shaping the overall strategic direction for the maintenance proposition and the team
  • Development of collaborative relationships with both suppliers and relevant stakeholders in our high potential customers
  • Drive the technical capability journey of our business by delivering product and application training within RS and providing ongoing coaching of external sales teams

What You’ll Bring

  • Higher qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline. Minimum of ONC/ BTEC or equivalent. Desirable HNC / Degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering.
  • Experience working in either a manufacturing or maintenance environment with strong technical knowledge of condition monitoring tools, techniques and products
  • An understanding of the RS customer base and the MRO market
  • Possesses a growth mind-set with a strong desire to continually self-develop
  • Curious and Innovative, always looking for new and different solutions to customer needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and customer focused, understanding the needs of providing high levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen by identifying and acting upon buying signals to maximize and capture all sales opportunities.
