Senior Solution Engineer (Systems/Information Technology)

Location: Cummins Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom (UK-based sequestered to on-site 60% minimum, or potentially India-based)

Closing Note: Two vacancies available; final hiring location will depend on candidate pool and market conditions.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Solution Engineer to join our team in Systems/Information Technology at Cummins. This role involves working with innovative technologies, including AI and cutting-edge automation tools, to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 application support for Oracle Fusion SaaS solutions, troubleshooting complex functional and technical issues while ensuring timely resolution and maintaining system stability.
  • Analyze and document business and technical requirements to design and deliver scalable, fit-for-purpose technology solutions that align with business objectives, enterprise architecture, and stringent security standards.
  • Design, configure, test, and maintain Oracle Fusion, AI-powered solutions, and related technologies. Tasks include working with:
    • Agentic AI
    • Microsoft Copilot
    • ChatGPT
    • Various automation tools.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, vendors, and IT service providers to ensure seamless solution implementation, integration, and improvement in system performance and quality.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as:
    • Solution designs
    • Architecture diagrams
    • Workflow guides
    • Configuration specs
    • Integration specifications to aid ongoing operations and future enhancements.
  • Lead technical analysis and evaluation of solution options, comparing:
    • Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products
    • Custom-built solutions
    • AI-driven capabilities to select the best technical fit and maximize business value.
  • Support solution testing, data migration, and integration validation, ensuring adherence to:
    • Data accuracy
    • System interoperability
    • Compliance with quality, cybersecurity, privacy, and performance regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned applications and technologies, proposing innovations to:
    • Improve business processes
    • Boost adoption of standard platform features
    • Implement AI-driven and automation solutions.
