Solutions Analyst

TransUnion – Team: Job Applicant Privacy Notice

Team Overview

This team designs and delivers credit decisioning solutions for lenders, including major UK banks and other financial institutions. Their solutions help clients make informed lending decisions by:

  • Collecting data from multiple sources
  • Applying business rules and scorecards
  • Returning automated decisions to clients’ systems

The team works closely with consultants, clients, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, using industry-leading decisioning platforms to: ✔ Build, configure, and test solutions ✔ Support credit risk assessment, affordability checks, and lending decisions

This role reports to the Manager, Technical Consultant and operates in a hybrid working model, requiring:

  • A minimum of two in-person days per week at an assigned TransUnion office
  • Regular virtual performance of job responsibilities

Role Overview & Core Responsibilities

  • Support solutions construction: Assist Solutions Consultants in designing high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Technical configuration: Configure solutions in TransUnion’s decisioning software, following best practices and guidance from Senior Solutions Analysts and Solutions Consultants.
  • Testing & quality assurance: Conduct unit testing on solutions and collaborate with the Test Team during later testing stages.
  • Documentation: Contribute to project documentation, including functional and business specifications.
  • Project engagement: Attend meetings with project teams and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Stakeholder updates: Keep the Project Manager, Solutions Delivery Manager, or Team Lead updated on progress via reports.
  • Knowledge maintenance: Maintain and update solution documentation throughout and after project implementation.
  • Solution delivery support: Assist Senior Analysts and Consultants in delivering solutions effectively.
  • Client support: Foster strong working relationships post-delivery to assist clients with ongoing needs.
  • Issue resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues during delivery and post-live phases with minimal supervision.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Collaborate closely with colleagues in Decision Services and other supporting teams.
  • General support: Provide additional support as needed, including handling change requests and resolving queries or issues.
  • Testing participation: Take part in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) calls and defect management sessions.
  • Post-implementation transition: Be involved in transferring projects to post-live support teams.
  • Strategy adherence: Learn and apply TransUnion’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.

Required Knowledge & Experiences

Essential Experience

✅ Experience working in a professional software development environment (working across physical or virtual teams) on project deliveries. ✅ Strong communication and teamworking skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and third-party suppliers. ✅ Strong problem-solving abilities, including identifying root causes and driving permanent resolutions and improvements. ✅ Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver within deadlines with minimal supervision.

Education & Drive

📚 Higher Education degree in Science, Mathematics, Technology, or Business, or relevant industry experience. 💡 Drive to learn new skills and continuously professional development.

Technical Skills

🖱️ Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word) 🐍 Programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript (JS), C (or derivatives), or Lua 🧪 Basic knowledge of testing tools (e.g., SOAP UI) and testing processes 🔧 Software configuration skills 💰 Understanding of finance and credit risk strategies (a preference for the role)
