Solutions Architect
Guildford / Hybrid – Up to £55,000 + Car Allowance
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join a growing and highly successful IT services company based near Guildford.
This is a client-facing role for someone who can bridge the gap between technology and business. You will need a strong technical understanding, but this is not a hands-on delivery role. Equally, this isn't a traditional sales position.
You will work with a portfolio of SME clients, getting to understand their businesses, their current technology and where they want to go next. You will help shape their IT strategy, identify areas for improvement and scope the projects needed to get them there.
The role has three main areas:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Running regular strategic IT roadmap meetings with clients
- Scoping and costing IT projects before handing them over to the technical delivery team
- Supporting new business opportunities and helping clients identify where technology can improve their business
You will need enough technical knowledge to look at an existing environment and work out what a solution should look like, what technology is required and the likely time and cost involved in delivering it.
The majority of clients are Microsoft based, so good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure is important. Experience around Microsoft security, cloud migrations and wider infrastructure would also be useful.
We are ideally looking for someone from an MSP, IT services, consultancy or similar background who combines good technical knowledge with excellent people skills. You should be comfortable talking technology with technical teams one minute and explaining the business case to a company owner the next.

Experience with Apple/macOS or Google Workspace environments would be an added bonus, as would an interest in AI and how it can be used practically within businesses.
The role is hybrid, with 2-3 days a week based in the office near Guildford, alongside occasional client visits.
If you are technically credible, enjoy working with clients and want a role where you can have a genuine influence on their technology strategy, we'd be very interested in speaking to you.
