Solutions Architect – Insurance Technology

Location: UK / Europe
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
Sector: Insurance / Financial Services

We are working with a leading global insurance organisation that is going through a major technology transformation and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join its architecture function.

This is a senior technical role for an architect who can operate across enterprise, application and integration architecture, while remaining close enough to the technology to make informed technical decisions and provide meaningful guidance to development teams.

The organisation is investing heavily in modern architecture, APIs, automation, AI and event-driven technologies, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced architect to play a significant role in shaping its future technology landscape.

The Role

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a key role in the design and implementation of complex technology solutions across the organisation.

  • You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, development teams and technology leadership to translate business requirements into robust, scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
  • You will be involved in architectural strategy, design governance, technology roadmaps, solution design and the adoption of modern technologies and architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to the development of solutions, technology roadmaps and architectural recommendations.
  • Design and implement complex application and technology architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership across major transformation initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in architecture and design governance processes.
  • Provide architecture guidance to development teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Develop and influence technology strategies across applications and technology domains.
  • Help drive the adoption of API-led, service-based and event-driven architectures.
  • Support increased automation across the technology estate.
  • Work closely with other architects, engineers, development teams and technology stakeholders.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective IT solutions.
  • Own architectural deliverables, including technical evaluations and Proofs of Concept.
  • Contribute to technology standards, reference architectures, best practices and guidelines.
  • Support application stability, performance and remediation initiatives.
  • Participate in vendor and product evaluations where required.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies and their potential application within the business.
  • Influence technical direction across a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Support wider enterprise architecture initiatives and Centres of Excellence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Exposure to the London Market / Lloyd's, insurance platforms, complex insurance applications or large-scale insurance transformation programmes would be particularly valuable.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal person will have progressed from a strong software engineering / development / technical background into senior architecture, meaning they can operate at a strategic level without losing their technical credibility.

We're particularly interested in people who can talk in detail about architectures they've personally designed, the technical decisions they've made, the challenges they've encountered and how they've solved them.

This isn't a role for someone who has simply adopted the Architect title without significant hands-on technical architecture experience.

What You'll Get

  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office / 2 days remote
  • Opportunity to work on major technology transformation within a leading global insurance organisation
  • Significant exposure to modern architecture, APIs, automation, AI and event-driven technology
  • Senior-level influence across technology strategy and transformation
  • Excellent benefits package
  • Opportunity to work alongside experienced architecture and engineering professionals

If you're an experienced Senior Solutions Architect looking for an opportunity to work on complex, high-impact technology transformation within the insurance sector, we'd be very interested in speaking with you.
