Solution Architect (Senior & Principal)
Location: London (Hybrid) | Experience: 5+ years | Openings: 2 | Function: Engineering
About my client
My client is building an AI work-execution platform for alternative investment firms and their portfolio companies, securely bringing together proprietary data, external sources and workflows. Backed by a global group of 1,800+ professionals with deep domain expertise, the team is small, senior and high-ownership, with direct access to the Executive Committee.
The role
As Solution Architect, you will bridge customer needs and platform capability, designing how the platform lands inside sophisticated investment firms. You will lead technical discovery with clients, design integration architectures across a Java/Spring core and Python services, and own the trade-offs that make enterprise deployments repeatable rather than bespoke.
This is an engineering-side role that spends roughly half its time with clients. You will not write production features, but you will read code, debug integrations with engineers, and be the person a client CTO trusts in the room.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
