Solution Architect – ERP & Engineering
UK & Selected EMEA Locations – Remote | Hybrid for Cheltenham-based candidates
£90,000 – £100,000
The role is open to candidates based in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Nordics, Italy, Poland, Egypt, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Austria or Turkey.
VIQU are partnering with a global manufacturing organisation to recruit a Solution Architect – ERP & Engineering into a highly influential architecture role. As the dedicated ERP and Engineering Solution Architect within the business, you’ll shape the future direction of ERP, Supply Chain and Engineering platforms across an international estate, defining technology roadmaps, supporting major modernisation programmes and exploring how AI, Copilot and agent-based solutions can enhance core business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and define the ERP platform strategy and roadmap, ensuring technology decisions align with wider business and enterprise architecture objectives.
- Provide architectural direction across ERP, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Engineering platforms within a complex global environment.
- Lead the architectural approach to ERP modernisation, including the evolution of JD Edwards and Microsoft Dynamics 365 alongside other enterprise platforms.
- Assess new technologies and features through evaluation, proof of concepts and roadmap development, including AI, Copilot and agent-based solutions.
- Translate complex business challenges into scalable, secure and sustainable technology solutions while promoting standardisation and minimising unnecessary customisation.
- Influence senior stakeholders and executives on architectural decisions, platform investments and the adoption of global technology standards.
- Provide architectural governance and technical oversight across multiple delivery teams, implementation partners and technology vendors.
- Support international transformation initiatives, with some travel to stakeholders, technology partners and business locations required.

Key Experience Required
- Expert-level ERP architecture experience, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or JD Edwards 9.2, although experience with other leading enterprise ERP platforms will be considered.
- Recent experience delivering ERP transformation, modernisation or implementation within a complex organisation.
- Strong Microsoft Azure architecture experience, with knowledge of cloud development, integration, security and software architecture best practice.
- Experience augmenting enterprise solutions with low-code, Copilot, AI or agent-led technologies.
- Previous experience operating as a lead consultant, ideally within a consultancy or systems integrator environment.
- Demonstrable experience owning platform roadmaps and helping set strategic technology direction.
- Experience delivering ERP, CRM or field service platforms internationally within a complex manufacturing, engineering or sales-led organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture to senior business leaders and gain agreement at executive level.
- Microsoft Azure Solution Architect or relevant Dynamics qualifications would be desirable.
