Solution Architect

Duration: Initial 6-month contract

Location: London / Sheffield (2-3 days in office, Hybrid working)

Reports to: Lead Solution Architect

Works closely with: Delivery/Programme Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Development teams, Enterprise Architecture.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, delivery-focused Solution Architect to join an active Investment Delivery team on a contract basis. This is a "do-er" role designed for someone who thrives on getting into the details, creating clear architecture diagrams, authoring solution designs, and actively testing or configuring systems when needed. Working alongside a Lead Solution Architect, you will "hold the pen" on technical artifacts and help bridge the gap between architectural intent and actual delivery reality. If you are curious by nature, regularly question why the business is pursuing specific approaches, and possess background knowledge in Financial Services or Investments, this role is for you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Visual & Structural Design: Strong ability to create visual diagrams and clear documentation using frameworks or notations such as C4 Model, ArchiMate, UML, or TOGAF.
