Solution Architect – Azure | Contract | Inside IR35
Hybrid – West Midlands
£700-£800 per day (Inside IR35)
We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to provide technical leadership for a business-critical Azure platform.
You'll take ownership of the end-to-end solution architecture, working closely with internal teams and a strategic systems integration partner to drive platform modernisation, governance, and technical assurance across a large-scale cloud environment.
What you'll be doing
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for a critical Azure-hosted platform.
- Provide architectural governance across applications, infrastructure, security, and integrations.
- Review and approve solution designs, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
- Lead architectural decisions for cloud modernisation and strategic technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams.
- Produce architecture documentation, roadmaps, and technical standards.
- Support Design Authority, governance forums, and technical assurance activities.

Key Skills
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong Azure architecture and cloud-native expertise.
- Experience designing highly available, secure, and resilient platforms.
- Knowledge of Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep).
- API Management, Azure networking, and security.
- Strong stakeholder management and experience working with multiple delivery partners.

Desirable
- Cloud migration and platform modernisation programmes.
- NIS2, Cyber Security, or Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) experience.
