Senior Manager - Solution Architect
Salary - Up to £90,000
Location - Hybrid | Bristol
We're working with a growing consultancy that partners with organisations on complex technology and digital transformation challenges. They're expanding their architecture capability and are looking for a Senior Managing Solution Architect to join the team.
This is a senior leadership role. You'll report directly to the Chief Enterprise Architect, carry real technical authority and own architectural delivery across multiple client engagements at once. If you want a role where you can make decisions, shape practice and do work that genuinely moves the needle for clients, this is it.
Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead architectural delivery across multiple client engagements and act as the senior technical escalation point
- Design and govern enterprise-grade solution architectures, including cloud, data, and integration patterns
- Engage with senior client stakeholders to shape technical strategy and translate business requirements into architectural decisions
- Support practice development and help grow the internal architecture capability
- Define and uphold technical governance, security standards, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to business development, including pre-sales and proposal work
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of consultants and analysts
- Manage technical risk and oversee integration across client technology estates
- Communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements
- TOGAF certification with strong applied experience across multiple architecture domains
- Proven background at Senior Manager or Lead Architect level, with experience managing large-scale technology programmes
- Solid cloud architecture experience, with Azure preferred
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including communication at executive level
- Familiarity with governance frameworks such as DDAT and GDS
- Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery environments
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing senior technical staff
- Good understanding of security principles and risk management
- Desirable: ERP knowledge, public sector or defence experience, cloud architecture certifications, microservices design experience
