We're looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to join our growing Digital Identity and Biometrics team, helping deliver innovative solutions used by millions of citizens across the UK and internationally.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of identity innovation, partnering with government organisations, technology vendors, and industry experts to solve some of the most complex identity challenges facing society today.
The Opportunity
As a Solutions Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient Digital Identity and Biometrics solutions for public sector clients.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, client stakeholders, technology partners, and leading biometric vendors to deliver transformational services that support the future of digital identity infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- ✅ Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale digital identity and biometric solutions
- ✅ Shape innovative solutions spanning Identity Verification (IDV), Digital Credentials, Digital Wallets, Business Identity Platforms, eGates, ABIS, and Live Facial Recognition technologies
- ✅ Provide technical leadership across complex, multi-supplier and multi-department delivery programmes
- ✅ Support clients in developing identity strategies, roadmaps, procurement approaches, and technology selection
- ✅ Evaluate emerging technologies and support feasibility studies, pilots, and proof-of-concepts
- ✅ Manage architecture governance, technology risks, compliance activities, and design assurance
- ✅ Work with leading biometrics experts and technology providers to solve national-scale identity challenges
- ✅ Support business development activities and contribute to future growth opportunities
- ✅ Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues while promoting an inclusive and collaborative culture

What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- ✔ Extensive experience delivering Digital Identity and/or Biometrics solutions within Public Sector, Government, Borders, Policing, Healthcare, National Identity, or large-scale Financial Services environments
- ✔ Proven experience architecting secure, scalable enterprise solutions
- ✔ Experience with technologies such as:
- Identity Verification Platforms
- Digital Credentials
- Business Identity Services
- Digital Wallets
- Live Facial Recognition
- Biometric Matching Solutions
- eGate and Border Technologies
- Identity Verification Applications
- ✔ Experience delivering complex programmes across multiple organisations, suppliers, and stakeholders
- ✔ Strong cloud architecture expertise across:
- AWS
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform
- ✔ Knowledge of identity standards and frameworks including:
- GPG45
- eIDAS
- GDPR
- ✔ Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
- ✔ Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- ✔ Eligibility to obtain UK SC Clearance
Desirable Experience
- ⭐ Biometrics technologies including facial, fingerprint, iris, and biographic identity solutions
- ⭐ Knowledge of Presentation Attack Detection (PAD), liveness detection, and biometric testing methodologies
- ⭐ Understanding of biometric performance, bias, resilience, and security risks
- ⭐ GDS Service Standard and Technology Code of Practice
- ⭐ Experience within Transport, Defence, Borders, Public Safety, or National Security programmes
- ⭐ Industry recognition, speaking engagements, or thought leadership within the digital identity space
- ⭐ Knowledge of ISO/IEC and NIST biometric interoperability standards
