Solutions Architect (HR Domain)
Duration: Initial 6 Months
Location: Reading or Dublin (Hybrid 1 – 2 days per week)
Job Type: Inside IR35 Day Rate
We're looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with experience in the HR Domain to support a number of strategic colleague experience and HR transformation programmes across the global technology landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the architecture and future direction of various HR workstreams and wider colleague-facing platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading solution architecture design activity across HR, payroll, learning and colleague experience transformation programmes
- Supporting the rollout of a global standard payroll platform across Primark countries, ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture principles and local regulatory requirements
- Creating solution architecture high level designs presenting to Design Authority for approval and feedback, working closely with other architects such as Infrastructure, Data and Cyber Security
- Governing data architecture, integration patterns, identity and access management capabilities across HR-related platforms
- Supporting technology modernisation, platform rationalisation and legacy system decommissioning activities
- Assessing the impact of new business capabilities, localisation requirements and regulatory changes
- Providing architectural leadership across multiple concurrent transformation initiatives and partnering closely with business, HR and technology stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes

Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions via clear design documentation
- Strong experience designing and implementing HR, Payroll, workforce management, talent, learning or employee experience technology solutions
- Good domain knowledge of the HR “Hire to Retire” employee journey
- Deep understanding of solution architecture principles, frameworks and best practices, including TOGAF or equivalent
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture, API-led design and event-driven integration approaches
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management concepts including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), role-based access controls and identity governance
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working across large-scale HR, workforce or business transformation programmes

Preferred Experience
- Experience with leading HR and Workforce platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, UKG, Cornerstone, Degreed or similar enterprise solutions (Workday is preferred but we welcome candidates with architecture experience from other enterprise platforms)
- Experience with learning and talent management technologies
- Experience of top tier Payroll Platform providers such as CloudPay
- Familiarity with identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, Okta or equivalent solutions
- Experience designing architectures involving employee experience and colleague self-service platforms
- Understanding of retail, frontline workforce or large distributed employee environments
- Relevant degree or professional qualifications
Alternative Candidate Profile
We welcome candidates with architecture experience from other enterprise platforms and domains who can demonstrate transferable skills in HR, workforce, identity, colleague experience or large-scale business transformation programmes. Experience with the specific platforms listed above is advantageous but not essential.
