The Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect is responsible for providing presales support to Barracuda’s customers. This role facilitates workshops, validates technical requirements, answers advanced technical questions, delivers product demonstrations, manages POV/POC process, and collaborates with sales teams on sales opportunities. It also follows up with prospective customers during the evaluation phase to ensure they have the necessary support and information.

Responsibilities

  • Works on gathering client requirements, performing fit-gap analysis, and shaping high-level client solutions based on Barracuda’s products
  • Manages technical engagements, such as briefings, proof of concepts, and architectural design sessions
  • Contributes to the delivery of workshops, bootcamps, and trainings necessary to build partners’ technical skills
  • Delivers compelling product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of network security solutions
  • Works on projects involving the task of qualifying opportunities, validating technical requirements, and providing appropriate product recommendations to ensure customer needs are met
  • Answers technical questions, overcomes objections, and helps sales position against competitive solutions to secure customer buy-in
  • Responds to RFI’s and RFP’s and engages with appropriate internal resources like sales, product management, product marketing, CSE’s, and others when necessary to help close opportunities
  • Conducts security assessments and audits of client networks to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions for remediation
  • Follows up with prospective customers during the evaluation phase to ensure they have the necessary support and information
  • Collaborates with sales teams to ensure the smooth transition of projects from pre-sales to post-sales phase and offer guidance on network security design and configuration based on client requirements
  • Leverages specialized sales engineering knowledge in breadth and/or depth to a variety of issues/projects within the team
  • Works in a project-oriented manner contributing towards team-level goals
  • Works closely with channel solutions teams to identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Assists channel solutions team in analyzing sales data and/or developing strategies for sales' process improvement
  • Works with Key Channel Partners and Distributors to help them build Competence

  • Network & Infrastructure Security: hands-on experience with WAN/LAN, VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewalls, QoS, and SNMP
  • Vast experience in cloud security
  • Proven success in sales engineering or consulting
  • Familiarity with security threat vectors
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar certification is a plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or a similar technical pre-sales role
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, including users, remote users, networks, and applications
  • Knowledge of the network security market and current threat landscape
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
  • Proven ability to support the sales cycle and help close business while ensuring high customer satisfaction
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
