Solutions Architect (Oracle SaaS Cloud Infrastructure)

Duration: Initial 6 Month Contract

Location: Reading / Hybrid (2 days per week, with Tuesday as the anchor day for the architecture team, aiming for 4 Tuesdays a month with flexibility)

Day Rate: Inside IR35

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has opened for a hands-on Solutions Architect specialising in Cloud Infrastructure to join a major retail transformation programme on an initial 6 month contract. In this role, you will act as the primary infrastructure architecture lead for a business-critical migration from Oracle Retail Platform 15.x to Oracle Cloud (Oracle-hosted SaaS). You will take end-to-end ownership of the infrastructure design, spanning hybrid connectivity, Azure platforms, network segmentation, identity, and security, ensuring the target state environment is secure, performant, resilient, and fully operationalised. You will work on a hybrid basis, joining the broader architecture team in the Reading office on Tuesdays as an anchor day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead End-to-End Infrastructure Architecture: Design and deliver robust technical solutions across hybrid networking, cloud environments (Azure and OCI), security, and core infrastructure to support Oracle Retail SaaS migration.
  • Hybrid Connectivity and Network Design: Manage and design connectivity between customer environments, on-premise systems, Azure, and Oracle Cloud, utilising technologies like Verizon SDI, SWAN, routing domains, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Governance and Design Quality: Provide technical assurance and architectural governance, presenting designs at Architecture forums and ensuring strict alignment with enterprise design guardrails and principles.
  • Identity and Security Architecture: Drive identity, authentication, and access controls (Azure AD/Entra ID, SSO/federation, conditional access, egress controls, and certificate management).
  • Documentation and Technical Artefacts: Produce high and low level infrastructure documentation, including Solution Blueprints, Low Level Infrastructure Designs, network topologies, and operational handover artefacts.
  • Cross-Domain Collaboration: Act as the primary infrastructure liaison to key stakeholders, engineering managers, product owners, and delivery teams (including external partners and suppliers).
  • Non-Functional Requirements: Define and optimise non-functional requirements (performance, throughput, latency, security, RTO/RPO, and high availability) across integration boundaries.
  • Operational Readiness: Plan and execute solution handovers to ensure post-delivery operational readiness, monitoring capabilities, and long term supportability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
