An Overview Of This Role
As the Manager of Public Sector Solutions Architects, you will lead a team of Solutions Architects serving public sector customers. This role sits at the intersection of technical strategy, customer outcomes, and team leadership. You will support high-impact public sector opportunities, guide technical pre-sales work from planning through monitoring, and help your team connect GitLab’s DevSecOps platform to each customer’s business and mission needs. You will report through the sales organization and work closely with regional sales managers, as well as peers in Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you will both grow a high-performing team and lead by example in customer-facing solution architecture work.
Due to customer requirements, you must be a United States Citizen (defined as any individual who is a citizen of the United States by law, birth, or naturalization) to fill this position.
What You’ll Do

- Communicate GitLab’s vision, strategy, and values in a way that helps your team apply them in day-to-day work.
- Track team execution through key performance indicators and provide clear updates to peers and leadership.
- Model strong customer engagement by acting as a Solutions Architect on selected opportunities to support customer success.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
