Solutions Architect

The engagement

We're building out a team to work with a client on a major data and cloud migration for their marketplace platform.

You'll be the Solutions Architect on it: owning the target-state data architecture on AWS, and the plan to get there without disrupting a live platform running at serious volume.

That means owning the migration end to end: how the data moves, in what order, how it's cleaned and reconciled along the way, and how you cut over with as little downtime as possible.

The platform

This is a genuinely large-scale marketplace. Very few platforms handle a product catalogue or transaction volume at this level.

The roadmap includes agentic AI workflows built into the platform, retail media integrated directly into the marketplace, and infrastructure work targeting cost and performance at high volume.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A lot of this is being attempted at volumes that have rarely been tested in a marketplace before, so the work leans research-led rather than routine.

Who this suits

You work comfortably across data and cloud, and you've owned migration planning start to finish before.

You can hold the detail of dependency mapping and cutover sequencing while keeping the wider architecture in view.

You've done this on AWS, at scale, on systems that can't afford much downtime.

What we need

The essentials:

  • A strong blend of data and cloud migration experience
  • Hands-on experience designing target-state data architecture on AWS
  • Data migration planning: dependency mapping, data cleansing, reconciliation, cutover, rollback, and low-downtime migration
