Company & Role
This is a senior architecture hire within an established technology and professional services business undertaking a full transformation of its Lead to Cash value stream. The programme covers people, process, technology and data, and spans Sales, Finance, Operations and IT.
You will own the end to end solution architecture for that value stream. That means defining the target state, governing how it gets built, and making sure the business outcomes behind the programme actually translate into something scalable, secure and supportable. The role runs the full programme lifecycle, from vendor selection and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment and decommissioning of the legacy estate.
You will report into the Solution Architecture function and work closely with delivery teams, enterprise architecture and senior stakeholders across the business.
Why This Role Stands Out
- You join before the technology is locked in. Vendor selection is part of the remit, so you shape what gets bought rather than inheriting someone else's decisions and making them work.
- Genuine breadth. CRM, CPQ, order management, time and attendance, billing and ERP all sit inside the scope, alongside the integration and data layers that connect them.
- Real architectural authority. You lead Architecture Review Boards, sit on Design Authority, and review the detailed designs coming out of delivery teams.
- Visible across the business. Sales, Finance, Operations and IT are all in the room, so this is as much about stakeholder credibility as it is about design.
- A clear remit to simplify. Reducing technical debt and retiring legacy applications is an explicit objective, not an afterthought.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
