Role Overview
Half this job is architecture. The other half is convincing senior stakeholders that you're right, and bringing them with you.
£75 - £80k, permanent, hybrid with a few days a month at the office in Yorkshire. A senior solution architect seat at a large national not-for-profit, fully cloud and Microsoft-led, where new regulation means the architecture work matters now.
What's in it for you
- A senior seat in a small architecture team, reporting to the Head of Architecture
- Real breadth: data, application, technology and security across a large SaaS-heavy estate
- Influence on roadmaps and investment, not just project designs
- Work with a purpose: the systems you shape support frontline services for the public

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Working with senior business and technology leaders on roadmaps and investment planning
What you'll need

- Breadth across data, application, technology and security architecture, rather than depth in a single stack
- Strong architecture documentation: HLDs, options, decision records, C4-style views
