Solution Architect / Senior Solution Architect - Modern Architecture experience essential.
£700 - £800 p/d - IR35 TBC - 6 Month initial contract but likely to be extended
Overview:
We’re looking for a high quality, experienced Senior Solution Architect to join a major technology modernisation programme, helping transition a complex technology estate away from legacy platforms towards a modern, cloud-native, domain-oriented and event-driven architecture. This is a highly delivery-focused architecture role. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to define solutions, validate architectural approaches and ensure they can be successfully implemented within a production environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing API-first architectures and integration patterns
- Exploring and implementing event streaming and messaging technologies, including Kafka
- Designing and delivering cloud-native solutions within AWS
- Defining microservices and distributed system architectures
- Designing solutions using event-driven architecture principles
- Applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to complex technology environments
- Working directly with engineering teams to turn architecture into working solutions
- Assessing and selecting appropriate technologies and tooling, proving approaches alongside engineers
- Ensuring architectural solutions are practical, scalable and capable of being implemented successfully
- Supporting the transition from legacy applications towards a modern distributed technology landscape
- Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and wider stakeholders

What we’re looking for
You’ll have significant practical experience designing and delivering distributed systems, with strong knowledge across:
- Microservices architecture
- Event-Driven Architecture
- Distributed systems and distributed data architecture
- Domain-Driven Design
- API-first design
- Event streaming and messaging patterns
- Kafka or comparable event-streaming technologies
- Modern application architecture and platform modernisation
- AWS / cloud-native architecture
