About the Role

The Global Customer Technology Director (GCTD) is a senior technology strategy leader responsible for driving customer transformation across AI, cloud, and data platforms; shaping LSEG's position as a trusted innovation partner; and influencing internal product and proposition strategy through high-quality customer and industry insights.

This role integrates deep subject-matter expertise with commercial and strategic leadership. GCTDs engage senior technology stakeholders (CTOs, CIOs, CDOs, Heads of Innovation and Data), identify transformative opportunities, and guide customers in adopting LSEG's platforms and capabilities. They operate within a unified global model that ensures consistent delivery, scalable best practices, and strong cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Product, Engineering, Consulting, and Partner teams.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Industry Leadership

  • Build advisory-level relationships with senior technology executives, articulating industry trends and customer transformation strategies.
  • Provide thought leadership across AI/ML, cloud, data analytics, enterprise architecture, and other emerging technologies with flexibility to expand focus as the industry evolves.
  • Serve as an industry thought leader by actively participating in key conferences, panels, and industry forums representing LSEG and shaping the broader technology agenda.
  • Partner with CSPs and other strategic partners on joint customer engagements, platform integrations, and innovation initiatives.

Value Delivery & Opportunity Generation

  • Identify and shape strategic opportunities aligned to customer objectives, including AI, cloud migration, data platform modernisation, and workflow digitisation.
  • Support commercial teams by contributing to account plans, expanding platform adoption, and enabling revenue growth through technology-led insights.
  • Facilitate scalable use-case development, proofs of concept, and solution patterns across a range of customers engaging with LSEG on strategic, technology-led initiatives.

Internal Influence & Collaboration

  • Act as the voice of the customer, providing structured insights to Proposition, Product, Technology, and Strategy teams to inform roadmaps and prioritisation.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Managers, Group Strategic Relationship Directors (GSRDs) / Global Business Directors (GBDs), Proposition Sales, Professional Services, and Partner teams to ensure a consistent one-team model across geographies.
  • Participate in internal steering groups and cross-functional initiatives to align customer needs with strategic direction.

Practice Leadership & Knowledge Sharing

  • Lead a practice area (e.g., AI, cloud, data, trading tech, workflow optimisation) to develop reusable frameworks, collateral, and best practices.
  • Share competitive intelligence and market insights, supporting capability uplift across the wider organisation.
  • Drive consistency across the GCTD community, reinforcing global standards and scalable engagement models.

Success KPIs

  • Strategic opportunity origination and pipeline influence, particularly across AI, data platform, cloud, and workflow modernisation initiatives.
  • Sustained account health and trusted-advisor status, evidenced by direct client engagement on strategic technology decisions.
  • Quality and impact of senior executive engagement, measured through well-run Technology Executive Business Reviews that align customers, account teams, Product, and Engineering on strategic priorities.
  • Contribution to product roadmap and strategic prioritisation, using structured customer insights and industry signals to guide LSEG's platform and capability development.
  • Cross-functional collaboration effectiveness, ensuring a cohesive one-team model across Sales and Account Management, Professional Services, Product, Engineering, and Partner teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
