Environmental Services Solutions Director

The Opportunity
As an Environmental Services Solutions Director, you'll work alongside Business Development, Operations, Commercial, and Bid teams to develop innovative, compliant, and commercially robust solutions for both new and existing clients.
- You'll be instrumental in helping us grow our Environmental Services portfolio by designing compelling service solutions that deliver exceptional outcomes for customers while supporting sustainability and ESG ambitions.
- This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, engage with senior stakeholders, and contribute directly to business success.
What You'll Be Doing
Solution Development & Bid Leadership
- Lead the design and development of environmental services solutions for allocated bids, tenders, and business opportunities.
- Create innovative service models that meet client objectives while ensuring operational excellence and commercial viability.
- Collaborate with bid, commercial, operational, and finance teams to build winning submissions.
- Produce high-quality proposal content, presentations, and client-facing materials.
- Mentor team members when needed.

Business Growth
- Support the identification, qualification, and development of new business opportunities across multiple sectors.
- Partner with Business Development teams to create compelling value propositions that differentiate our offering.
- Contribute to opportunity qualification, bid strategies, and growth planning activities.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Act as a trusted Environmental Services specialist throughout the sales and bid lifecycle.
- Provide market insight, technical expertise, and industry knowledge to support successful outcomes.
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory developments, sustainability initiatives, and customer requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure solutions are deliverable, safe, compliant, and scalable.
- Participate in client meetings, solution reviews, governance forums, and presentations.
- Build strong working relationships across multiple business functions.
Sustainability & Innovation
- Embed sustainability, ESG priorities, and environmental outcomes into every solution.
- Drive continuous improvement through innovation, best practice, and emerging technologies.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with commercial thinking and has a genuine passion for delivering better environmental outcomes.
You'll Have:
- Experience within Environmental Services, Waste Management, Facilities Management, Grounds Maintenance, Recycling, Resource Management, or a related sector.
- Proven success supporting or leading solution development and bid activities for complex service contracts.
- Strong knowledge of environmental service delivery models, compliance requirements, and sustainability initiatives.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of pricing, margins, cost models, and value creation.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience producing high-quality bid content.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at multiple levels.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-led environments.
- A degree or professional qualification in environmental management, engineering, business, commercial studies, or a related field.
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks, net-zero initiatives, and sustainable service delivery models.
