Meet the Team
We are seeking a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to join our team, focusing on UK Regional Government in the North of England. In this customer-facing role you will collaborate with with both business and technical leaders to build strong relationships that ensure Cisco's products and services are aligned with the unique needs of the Public Sector.
Your Impact
As a Solutions Engineer, you are passionate about technology and how it can drive business outcomes.
- You will work across a comprehensive portfolio of products and services, including Networking, Observability, Security, Collaboration, Compute and AI – working with an Account Team to craft multi-architecture solutions to meet customers’ specific needs.
- You will have a strong team-working attitude, take ownership and accountability, and a desire to build strong consultative skills to understand customer's needs and position Cisco's product and services portfolio.
- You will conduct technical presentations, showcase Cisco solutions and services, set up demonstrations explaining features and benefits to your customers.
- You will support customers and partners with Bill of Materials and RFP/RFI responses, and help to build technology adoption plans.
- You will continuously acquire and develop technical and consultative skills, embracing best practices, and will keep yourself regularly updated with new industry trends, portfolio acquisitions and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
- Technical customer-facing experience, preferably including pre-sales.
- Experience and technical knowledge in at least two of these areas: Enterprise Networking technologies (Switching, Wireless, Routing); Network Automation; Programmability; Data Centre and Cloud Technologies; On-Prem and Cloud Security; Applications Observability; Cloud Networking; IoT.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of tasks and workstreams.
- Understanding of Enterprise technology, industry trends and market drivers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English. Strong story telling skills.
- Cisco Associate-level certification (or industry equivalent).
