Client Solutions Engineer
Location: London, UK
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Pattern: Remote/Hybrid
Reports To: Head of Technology
Are you passionate about technology, cloud infrastructure and delivering exceptional client experiences? We are looking for a Client Solutions Engineer to play a key role in the technical delivery, deployment and ongoing operation of a market-leading risk analytics platform focused on the renewable energy sector.
This is a hands-on, client-facing position where you will work closely with clients, engineering teams and technology leadership to support technical onboarding, manage client environments and ensure secure, reliable platform operations. The role offers a unique opportunity to combine cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices and customer engagement within a rapidly growing technology business operating at the intersection of software, analytics and renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Client Environment Management & Onboarding
- Manage and support client environments across the platform.
- Lead and support the technical onboarding of new clients.
- Work directly with client technical and security teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear setup and deployment tasks.
- Configure user access, permissions, authentication and security controls.
- Deploy platform and model components and perform connectivity and technical acceptance testing.
- Track onboarding progress, risks and dependencies.
- Confirm technical readiness before transitioning clients to ongoing support and adoption teams.
Platform Operations & Reliability
- Support and improve AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain containerised applications, APIs, databases and analytical services.
- Manage monitoring, logging, backups, recovery procedures and access controls.
- Identify opportunities to automate deployment and administration processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance platform reliability, scalability and supportability.

Release Management & Incident Support
- Support software releases, upgrades and maintenance activities.
- Maintain deployment, rollback and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor platform performance and investigate technical issues.
- Coordinate incident response and recovery activities with internal stakeholders.
- Communicate technical updates clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document incidents, root causes and preventative actions.
Security, Compliance & Documentation
- Support access reviews, vulnerability remediation and audit activities.
- Assist with client security questionnaires and technical due diligence requests.
- Maintain documentation required for audits, compliance reviews and operational governance.
- Support information security initiatives, including ISO 27001 compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks and technical documentation.
- Share knowledge and cross-train colleagues on key platform processes.
About You
Essential Experience
- Experience working within a DevOps environment, collaborating across development and operations teams.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services.
- Experience deploying and supporting containerised applications.
- Experience managing production environments.
- Strong understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, networking and access management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation or release management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical documentation capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth technology environment.
- Knowledge of AWS services including ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD platforms.
- Experience supporting B2B SaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with SSO, APIs and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar security frameworks.
- Experience supporting client security reviews and questionnaires.
- Exposure to insurance, risk analytics, geospatial technology, climate risk or catastrophe modelling sectors.
