Microsoft Teams Engineer – Solution Design (Front-End & Back-End)
Solutions Engineer – Microsoft Teams
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Teams Solutions Engineer to join our growing collaboration and digital workplace team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Teams solutions across both front-end user experiences and back-end infrastructure.
You'll work closely with architects, infrastructure teams, security specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative collaboration solutions that enhance productivity across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support enterprise Microsoft Teams solutions.
- Lead the end-to-end design of Teams environments, covering both front-end user experience and back-end infrastructure.
- Configure and manage Teams policies, governance, voice, meetings, collaboration, and app integration.
- Design and maintain integrations with Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
- Develop automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph where appropriate.
- Work with security teams to implement compliance, retention, conditional access, and information protection policies.
- Produce high-quality technical designs, documentation, and implementation plans.
- Troubleshoot complex Teams issues and provide third-line technical support.
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver new services and continuous improvements.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise Microsoft Teams environments.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture and collaboration technologies.
- Experience designing both front-end user solutions and back-end Microsoft Teams infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing and/or Operator Connect.
- Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API is desirable.
- Understanding of identity, authentication, and security best practices.
- Experience producing high-level and low-level solution designs.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
