About the Role
The Solution Engineer owns the end-to-end pre-sales process at ROLLER, commercial and technical. You partner with Account Executives to qualify, progress, and earn new business, while simultaneously running the technical validation that gives prospects the confidence to buy.
What sets a ROLLER SE apart is the combination. You carry the commercial rigour of a quota-carrying rep; MEDDICC discipline, value-based discovery, and business case ownership alongside the technical credibility to design and deliver compelling solutions. On the most complex deals, you'll have access to a Solution Architect as a force multiplier, which frees you to stay focused on the commercial motion where you create the most value.
In this role, you will support ROLLER's growth across the French market, engaging prospects and customers in French while collaborating with our wider EMEA and global teams in English.
What You’ll Do
- Champion MEDDICC qualification across your pipeline: identifying Economic Buyers, mapping Decision Criteria and Process, surfacing Implicated Pain, and maintaining a clear, honest view of deal health at all times
- Lead technical & value-based discovery with prospects, diagnosing operational and revenue pain points and connecting them explicitly to the value ROLLER delivers
- Own the technical pre-sales process: running tailored product demonstrations, managing technical validation, and handling integration and configuration questions across the standard deal motion
- In support with the AE, and our Business Value Consultant, present ROI-led business cases framed in the language of the Economic Buyer; revenue growth, cost reduction, and operational efficiency, not feature lists
- Own competitive positioning in live deals, handling objections and neutralising competitor narratives with confidence and evidence
- Partner closely with Account Executives on deal strategy, account planning, and executive engagement — presenting alongside them to C-suite stakeholders when the deal calls for it
- Engage Solution Architects on your most complex, high-value opportunities. You'll brief them in, stay close to the commercial thread, and ensure technical depth doesn't slow the deal down
- Respond to RFPs and RFIs, owning the commercial and functional positioning while leveraging SA support on technically deep sections
- Collaborate with Customer Success on expansion and upsell motions with existing customers, applying the same qualification and value-selling approach to growth as to new logo.
- Maintain clean pipeline and activity data in Salesforce, contributing to forecast accuracy and deal visibility
- Feed commercial insights; win patterns, loss reasons, and competitive intelligence back to Sales leadership to sharpen the overall motion

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Travel may be required up to 30%.
- 3+ years in a Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, or commercial pre-sales role within a SaaS company

- Technical confidence to run demos, handle product and integration questions, and manage a standard technical evaluation.
- Proven ability to build and present business cases to economic buyers, including at the executive level.

- Experience with Salesforce as your CRM of record
- Familiarity with value or solution selling frameworks (Command of the Message, Challenger, SCIPAB) is a strong advantage
- Experience in leisure, attractions, hospitality, or entertainment is a plus, but commercial instinct and methodology matter most
