We’re working with a growing UK Managed Services provider looking for an experienced IT Projects Engineer / Solutions Consultant to join its Professional Services team.

This is a hands-on project delivery role, rather than a BAU support position. You’ll be responsible for delivering infrastructure, networking and Microsoft cloud projects for customers, taking projects from technical scoping and design through to implementation, migration, documentation and handover.

You’ll work across multiple customer projects and technologies, with the majority of delivery completed remotely or from the office and occasional travel to customer sites when required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering infrastructure, networking and Microsoft cloud projects end-to-end
  • Technical scoping, discovery and requirements gathering
  • Implementing and migrating Microsoft 365 and infrastructure solutions
  • Producing solution designs, build documentation and handover packs
  • Supporting pre-sales with technical input where required
  • Identifying technical risks, constraints and dependencies
  • Working with Architects on more complex or non-standard solutions
  • Providing clear knowledge transfer and handover into Support
  • Maintaining knowledge across the company’s core technology stack

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Technologies

You’ll work across a broad range of technologies, including:

  • Microsoft 365: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Teams
  • Microsoft Cloud: Entra ID, Intune and Windows Autopilot
  • Infrastructure: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V and VMware
  • Networking: Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, routing, firewalls and wireless
  • Vendors: DrayTek, WatchGuard, SonicWall, UniFi, Aruba and Meraki
  • Azure: Virtual Machines, networking and VPN connectivity
  • Backup & DR: Datto, Acronis and Redstor
  • Security: Microsoft Defender, Bitdefender and Hornetsecurity
  • Scripting: PowerShell

You don’t need experience with every product listed above. Strong infrastructure, Microsoft cloud and networking experience is more important, alongside the ability and willingness to learn new technologies.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience delivering IT infrastructure and cloud projects
  • Ideally experience within an MSP, IT services or Professional Services environment
  • Hands-on Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Active Directory experience
  • Good understanding of networking, including switching, routing, VLANs and firewalls
  • Experience with virtualisation and cloud technologies
  • Ability to independently take projects from scoping through to implementation and handover
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills
  • Good technical documentation skills
  • Relevant Microsoft, networking or infrastructure certifications would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to occasionally visit customer sites

This would suit an experienced Infrastructure or Projects Engineer who enjoys building and implementing solutions rather than simply supporting them, and wants exposure to a varied pipeline of customer projects across cloud, infrastructure and networking.
