Position: Solutions Field Application Engineer (North-Midlands, UK)

Job Description: We are looking for a Solutions Field Application Engineer to join our team supporting customers across the North UK region.

In this role, you will act as a technical partner for customers, suppliers, and internal sales teams, helping to identify customer needs, provide technical guidance, and drive demand creation through Arrow’s engineering and design services. You will combine strong technical knowledge of embedded microcontroller and microprocessor systems, wireless connectivity, and solution selling to support customer designs and build long-term business opportunities.

What will you be doing?

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with customers across the North UK region to understand their technical needs and identify suitable solutions.
  • Visiting customers and using conference technology to engage directly with them, typically around 3 days per week, during discovery, design, and support phases.
  • Driving demand creation by promoting Arrow content on customer designs and using Arrow’s engineering and design services to support customer projects.
  • Partnering with the sales team on pre-sales and post-sales activities, providing technical support, consulting, and solution recommendations.
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers, suppliers, sales teams, and other Arrow departments to influence design decisions and secure design wins.
  • Building and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders within customer and supplier organizations.
  • Attending supplier trainings, both in person and remotely, to maintain strong knowledge of supplier technologies and market trends.
  • Participating in strategic branch meetings, QBRs, customer calls, trainings, and engineering customer events.
  • Supporting strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solution and contributing to wider Arrow initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
