Sonographer — Private Ultrasound Clinic
Location: Dagenham, Orpington or across both clinics, by agreement
Pay: £25.26–£28.90 per hour, depending on relevant experience
Hours: 23–30 hours per week, including weekends and evenings. The working pattern will be agreed according to clinic location and service needs.
We are looking for a skilled, compassionate sonographer to join our private ultrasound clinics. You will combine high-quality scanning with a warm bedside manner, helping expectant parents feel comfortable, informed and supported throughout their appointment.
About the role
An important part of your role will be showing expectant parents their baby, explaining what they can see and giving them the opportunity to bond with their baby in a welcoming, reassuring environment.
You will perform pregnancy ultrasound examinations within your assessed scope of competence, produce accurate images and reports, and explain findings clearly and sensitively. You will recognise concerns and follow appropriate referral pathways while maintaining patient dignity, confidentiality and high standards of care.

About you
- Relevant ultrasound qualifications and demonstrable competence in the examinations you will perform.
- HCPC registration preferred. Applicants with other relevant qualifications, including international or non-CASE-accredited awards, will be considered in line with BMUS and Society of Radiographers recruitment guidance, subject to qualification, registration and competency checks.
- Experience in obstetric scanning preferred.
- Previous experience in private 3D/4D pregnancy scanning preferred.
- A warm, reassuring bedside manner and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to communicate unexpected or sensitive findings with compassion and professionalism.
- A commitment to continuing professional development and safe clinical practice.
- Availability to work agreed evening and weekend sessions.
What we offer
- £25.26–£28.90 per hour, depending on relevant experience.

- One paid study day each year to attend an agreed relevant conference or study event, with the event fee paid by the company.
- Visa sponsorship if required for eligible candidates already residing in the UK, subject to applicable immigration and sponsorship requirements.
